Competition Entry Requirements:
- You must not have participated in Work and Travel USA Program previously; and
- You must submit a full application for Work and Travel USA Program 2012 on or before 08 October 2011.
- You must be between 18 and 30 years old;
- You must be registered as a full-time student at a local post-secondary institution, enrolled in a program with minimum length of 2 years. Post-graduate students whose program is less than 2 years can also be accepted;
- You must be able to commit at least 2.5 months to a temporary employment;
- You must be a legal resident of Hong Kong SAR or Macau SAR, without holding a US citizenship;
- You must have a passport valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay in the U.S.; and
- You must be able to function in an English-speaking work environment.
Competition Details:
The competition will be divided into three rounds and will run from September to October 2011.

Result:
Successful contestants will receive an invitation to Round 2 by email.
The Idea:
To ensure contestants’ basic understanding, suitability of the overseas experience and their proper motivation, contestants will be invited to a SELECTION.
Assessment:
Contestants are assessed on their abilities to demonstrate the below essential elements
- Interpersonal Skills
- Communication Skills
- Understanding of the Work and Travel USA Program
- Personal characteristics regarding responsibility, maturity, flexibility, independence, adaptability, confidence, etc.
Date:
15 October 2011 (Saturday) - contestants will be notified of venue & time by email.
Result:
Result will be announced by 26 October 2011. Top 30 contestants will receive an invitation to Round 3 by email.
The Idea:
In the form of Orienteering, this is to determine contestants’ abilities to strategize and conduct contingency planning, as well as to test their physical fitness since they might have the chance to face the challenging working environment in the US.
Assessment:
Contestants who complete the highest number of checkpoints in the shortest period of time will be the winners.

Result:
Result will be announced on the same day.
